*Do the secrets of the past hold the key to her future?*
After being abandoned as a baby and spending the first eighteen years of her life in foster care, Evie Curtis is determined to make a new life for herself. When she finds employment at a rural vineyard estate miles away from her hometown, she finally feels as though her luck is about to change. But after she arrives at the vineyard, she can't help but feel like everyone has a secret.
When she is warned to stay away from the lake on the estate, Evie hears whispers in the night, whispers that everyone denies hearing. When her curiosity gets the better of her, she ignores all warnings and goes to the lake to investigate, finding not her own reflection staring back at her in the water, but the face of a teenage boy.
Convinced what she saw wasn't real, Evie carries on with her work, until the whispers continue and her reflection remains that of the boy's. She soon realises the boy's spirit is reaching out to her for help, which forces her to secretly search her employer's house for clues. But not only does Evie discover his identity, but unexpectedly uncovers hidden facts that were preventing her to find answers about her own life.
