A gender-bent Pride & Prejudice retelling, told by a female Darcy.

After months of struggling at work following her father's death, Dacia García needs a break. Or rather, she's forced into one by her boss after a public meltdown and subsequent panic attack in front of company shareholders. Despite having zero interest in returning to Texas, she has no one but her college friends Chastity and Christian Barrera to turn to, who are temporarily residing in San Antonio for the summer. Dacia's ideal vacation is reading the days away and sulking about her problems in peace, but when Chastity falls head over heels for Jane Galindo, Dacia is roped into hanging out with Jane's family and friends week after week. That includes Marcus Galindo, Jane's charming younger brother who wants nothing to do with Dacia after overhearing a snarky comment made about his future profession in elementary education.

Marcus and Dacia butt heads over everything, but there's something about him that keeps drawing her back to him. As time passes and they keep running into each other, they start spending time alone together and even begin to like one another. But their tenuous relationship threatens to implode when someone from Dacia's past throws her character into question. Marcus knows Dacia is keeping something from him, and its stopping him from falling for her the way she's already fallen for him. Dacia will have to learn to trust Marcus with the darkest truths of her heart if she doesn't want to lose him forever. But even that might not be enough to keep them together.

Ethan and Luca were inseparable as children-two boys who spent their summer days building forts, sharing secrets, and dreaming of a future that would never tear them apart. But when Ethan's family suddenly moves to another state, their once unbreakable bond starts to fade. The letters slow, the phone calls dwindle, and soon, childhood promises give way to the inevitable distance that time creates. Years later, fate steps in when they are unexpectedly reunited as roommates during their sophomore year of college. Both have changed-Ethan is now a confident, outgoing athlete, while Luca has grown more reserved, preferring the solitude of his studies. Old memories resurface as they struggle to find common ground in the midst of their new lives. What begins as a tentative reconnection evolves into a friendship neither of them realized they still needed. But as the months go by, unspoken feelings rise to the surface. Ethan can't help but notice how much Luca has changed-and how deeply he's drawn to him in ways he doesn't fully understand. The more time they spend together, the more he questions if his feelings for Luca are more than just nostalgia for the boy he once knew. Meanwhile, Luca is grappling with his own confusion, unsure if what he feels for Ethan is just a longing for the past or the beginning of something more. As their bond strengthens, so does the tension between them, building toward a moment that will change everything. When Ethan finally confesses his feelings, Luca is forced to confront the truth he's been hiding from himself all along. In a story filled with slow-burn romance, emotional growth, and the intricacies of love and friendship. From childhood companions to star-crossed college roommates, Ethan and Luca's journey is a heartwarming and achingly tender exploration of friendship, loss, and the kind of love that spans both time and distance.

Love can feel empowering. Love can be deadly. It can be the greatest thing to ever happen. It can be the biggest mistake that can't be reversed. It can feel like a dream come true. It can feel like a nightmare that you can't wake up from. Love changes people in many ways, from mild to severe, whether it's beneficial or detrimental in anybody's life, no matter if you're lesbian, gay, straight, bisexual, pansexual, or a person who just loves people without a label. How does love change you? ******* It's like your basic high school love story, except it's with adults in their early-mid 20s, and they're either still in college or have graduated from college and have jobs. It's a modern slice of life narrative novel about lesbians trying to find true love or wanting to get back into the love game. Five of these lovely characters share their own little tales of how love changes them first go, or their first time in forever! Their perspectives on love as it takes effect either get sensual, dramatic, or to the extent of a slow burn, as they also deal with life's obstacles along the way and share a part in each other's stories. There are ups and downs as their own stories go along, and it all gets more suspenseful towards the end where problems unfortunately arise. Will things get better or worse from here for these lovestruck lesbians as the story goes on?
