The Legend of Zelda: Monuments to Light

A Legend of Zelda inspired story about an original character with a deep impassioned look at LoZ-Accurate lore from the perspective of a lover of Hylian history. This story is set in the "Hero Triumphant" timeline after the events of the "Ocarina of Time". In spirit, it is often a poetic compendium of items, mythological history, and characters within the Legend of Zelda story. It is told through the narrative of a Hylian girl who wishes she was like the Hero of Time, but finds those are impossible shoes to fill.

I created a character who represents all of us Zelda fans and our love for the games. The idea of her and her story was born out of a thirst for Legend of Zelda content that would further explore the mature themes present in many of the games.
My intention is that the reader may recapture the joy of playing the Legend of Zelda and learn fascinating things that are canon to the games, its anthropological facts, even lore they didn't otherwise know, all while exploring themes more in depth.
Lastly, I write to you, it is an unavoidable fact that we all know fanfictions can be incredibly cringe and filled with self inserts that ruin canon, even professionally done and licensed projects these days. With that said, I have some key rules I promise to abide by: my main characters are original, I cannot alter canon/lore, my story will not have any greater impact on established canon, I will honor Zelda lore and its established characters.
