Blake's mom Denae after just getting out of a marriage that was hopeless from the start is moving her and her three sons to a new city away from the lost opportunities of Arizona or the uncertain nights of Illinois to a bright start in Texas to move in with her estranged sister and her niece. 

Blake being as adaptable as he is seems not bothered by this despite crying the night of getting the news due to him leaving his friends including Jennifer the closest thing he has had to a girlfriend since kindergarten. But Blake is about to find out that ignoring and accepting are two different things and just how hard it is to break the ties that bind.
