The world was still, reducing Sarada to a miniscule speck in a sea of clouds and endless sky. It should have started to rain, yet the clouds stood on standby, as if holding back their thundering wrath. A barely visible ray of light reflected off the kunai and her glasses. The present moment was not kind, but the small glimmer of light managed to surprise her. It's funny how you pick up on those little things, she thought.
She wouldn't have called it fate, but that little sunbeam which she had glimpsed did seem to give her a way out. It hadn't saved her by any means, but it reminded her that there was always another chance. Another choice. It wasn't the sun, but in this terrifying situation, this ray of light was enough of a reason to hope.
