They decides that he doesn't want to kill jake just yet. Andrew decides he wants to do something else with Jake.

He lunged forward and grabbed the neck of her shirt, pulling her upwards. He couldn't stand to hear her regret her innocence. All those confusing feelings, the pit in his stomach when he watched her cry and the way he couldn't seem to stay away from her, that strange desire he had. It all started to make sense. He cared.
