Technically this is an oc but you can think of it as an x reader, i wrote this strictly for fun. This takes place after the battle with Quaritch.
*i do not own any characters besides Syroo and Ika, the Tyrangi is a real clan in Avatar but not much is known so most is made up on the spot

In this story Y/N L/N grew up on the streets of Republic City as an orphan. He never knew his real parents. And for as long as he can remember he's been able to Airbend, but he doesn't know how he can. For the first seven years of his life he grew up on the streets using his Airbending to survive. His life changes when he meets Tenzin, the son of Avatar Aang and an Airbending Master. When Tenzin realises that Y/N is an Airbender and an orphan, he takes the boy back to Air Temple Island to train him as an Airbender. He and his wife, Pema also decide to adopt Y/N as their son. The young boy goes on to be an older brother to Tenzin's two daughters, Jinora and Ikki and his son, Meelo. Y/N advances very fast in his Airbending training and after five years of training Tenzin makes Y/N an Airbending Master. Y/N starts uses his Airbending to help the people of Republic City in secret. One day his life changes when Avatar Korra comes to Republic City in order to be trained in Airbending by Tenzin. Y/N helps her train and the two of them along with their three friends Mako, Bolin and Asami form the new Team Avatar in order to stop The Equalist's and their leader Amon. She was raised to be the perfect balance of Neytiri and Jake, maybe a little too perfect. Follow her story as she has to give up the only life she has ever known to keep her people safe. --**-- My grandmother notices my frozen state and makes her way to me. "My child..." I turn to look at her, "do not be afraid of life, do not be afraid of fate, be afraid of doing nothing to change it." As the words leave her lips, it sparks a dying fire in my heart. A fire I thought would extinguish along with my title. I smile and pull her into a hug, "I will find my way back to you one day..." I whisper in her ear. "I know, and when you do, you will be a different person. I cannot wait to meet her." With her final words, and a newfound light in my soul, I turn to follow my family down the pathway. I reach the end and mount Kxitx, and with one last look at my clan, I pull my headpiece over my forehead, yip to signal takeoff, and burst from the ground like a sapling reaching to the sun.
