The Rumor of Algoquinn

"The Tree Bending Girl."
Backstory:
Toph's always been interested in the idea of lava and bending. But even she could never master the liquid rock, despite using Aang and Kaatara's more gentle techniques of bending to master mudbending. She does, however, learn a haunting truth, with enough focus, she can see ossified, dead trees, turtle shells, and even sense someone's bones, similar to the way katara can sense someone's blood. She never tells anyone about it, except Sokka, Suki, and Zuko. Instead, she abandons her children to their fathers, including Suyin.
She becomes nomadic, procuring an old, thoroughbred ostrich mare, with hooves and dysfunctional wings, from a friendly farmer, and riding it through her travels. . .One day, as she is exploring the Earth Kingdom, she runs into Gahzan, (father or uncle, as Kim later calls him). Together they secretly courted and conceived a child on what he originally thought was a random island. Toph warned him that if she was made with-child, he would have to raise it. And so, when a beautiful girl is born, the two continue to raise it for the first 5 years of her life together, on that very lion-turtle's back. Once LeeQuin is about 10 years old, her mother and father both give her a formal goodbye by teaching her specialized earthbending in two forms: Osteo-bending and Lavabending. Trusting the wise, female lion turtle with their Daughter, they part ways.
