June and Julie have been childhood friends forever. With a solemn promise on a cookie they made years ago, they were tied to each other to death. Since 4th grade, it has always been them only. Things unexpectedly change when Julie catches a new boyfriend. June finds herself third-wheeling them a lot and soon realizes she's jealous. Not from her friend though, but from the boyfriend! June feels as if the boyfriend is taking her only friend away. Between serious and not-so-serious events during the book, Julie's and June's friendship takes its up and downs.
