The beginning of the end...
Ten years after a nuclear explosion obliterates the world they once knew, a groups of survivors fight to establish a new life.
What they don't know is that hiding in the shadows are 'walkers' - creatures that have been slowly growing in numbers, and strength from the fallout of the explosion.
There are two rules for surviving the post-apocalyptic world:
Rule number one: Always go for the head.
Rule number two: Never look back.
But when a blast-from-the-past causes them to watch over their shoulders, they realise they may be in more danger than they anticipated.
So what happens when you mix danger with destruction?

Obviously, when a flesh-eating parasitical virus was found, scientists in all their glory decided to study it, which led to the greatest calamity in human history. Warning: This is the original book 1, it is now considered more of a prelude/building character relationships arc than a book. This provides backstory and sets the foundation for the characters and their relationships.
