The beginning of the end...
Ten years after a nuclear explosion obliterates the world they once knew, a groups of survivors fight to establish a new life.
What they don't know is that hiding in the shadows are 'walkers' - creatures that have been slowly growing in numbers, and strength from the fallout of the explosion.
There are two rules for surviving the post-apocalyptic world:
Rule number one: Always go for the head.
Rule number two: Never look back.
But when a blast-from-the-past causes them to watch over their shoulders, they realise they may be in more danger than they anticipated.
So what happens when you mix danger with destruction?

Zombies were said to be impossible, that they'd never happen, well obviously whoever said that had underestimated human curiosity. It started with the melting of the Poles, which uncovered diseases that hadn't been seen in millennia. Obviously, when a flesh-eating parasitical virus was found, scientists in all their glory decided to study it, which led to the greatest calamity in human history. Warning: This is the original book 1, it is now considered more of a prelude/building character relationships arc than a book. This provides backstory and sets the foundation for the characters and their relationships.
