Kiara never knew a world with peace and safely. Since the Irsoi empire fell, she and her family have constantly moved one step ahead of danger. When the chaos overtakes her family, her father charges her to finish the mission he abandoned: deliver a powerful artifact to a lost king to restore the mortal world's connection to magic. Kiara, a former thief, a magical child, and her trained falcon dodge bandits, warlords, cultists, monsters, and more on their harrowing journey to the final refuge of a dead kingdom.
Initially convinced a return to the old order will fix everything, the band of unlikely heroes Kiara finds along the way shakes her former beliefs. Perhaps the world will never again be what it was... but can it become something greater?
