The Heart's Disease

I hate her with a burning passion,
Her pure sunshine blinds my cold and dark heart.
But how is it I still feel this pull?
This strange attraction that won't depart.

She is my enemy, I'll never admit,
That underneath, I long for her touch.
Her warmth and smile, they soothe my soul,
And melt the ice that encased me so long.

Her kindness, her love, they heal my pain,
And as I open up, I see her true heart.
She has a darkness too, locked deep inside,
And as we share our stories, our bond only grows.

But as I look into his eyes, I see a light.
A wounded heart that's closed off from the world,
And a trauma that still haunts him every night.

But as we spend more time together, I see,
The wall he's built, it starts to crack.
And as he opens up, I feel my own walls fall,
And I see him in a different light, a stronger call.

I realize that our love is forbidden,
By the feud between our families, it's true.
But our hearts can't ignore the love that we share,
And we risk everything to be with each other, so rare.
