Novo Nachalo is Bulgarian for New Beginning, though for Hermione Granger, it starts with a painful ending first.
The unexpected death of her husband, Viktor Krum, leaves Hermione a widowed single mother. With a precocious six year old daughter, Rosen Krum, to care for as she navigates her own grief, Hermione struggles to balance the needs of motherhood, the demands of her career and ongoing education, and the attention of the press and public as she faces life after losing her partner and threats to her privacy.
The very public divorce of Draco and Astoria Malfoy due to her erratic behaviour and instability leaves Draco effectively a single father as well. With a toddler he wants to raise himself, an increasingly notorious professional quidditch career, the auspicious title of Wizarding Britain's Most Eligible Bachelor Again, and pressure from his mother to remarry, Draco struggles to prioritise his own happiness.
It starts as an arrangement to help each other with some of the difficulties they're both facing as they process the unexpected turns their lives have taken, but it slowly grows into something else entirely. New beginnings indeed.
