This story takes place on a planet where many different animal species evolved to be sapient and human-like. There are also non-animal sapient creatures like elementals that are also human-like. The main character of this story is Meza, a crystal elemental, who is just living her life when a beam of light comes down from the sky and suddenly a human appears. Meza has never seen a human before, because while the inhabitants of the planet are human-like, none of them have the exact human facial structure or hair patterns. Meza takes the human to her friend Jiyah, who is a bipedal lizard, to ask her what she thinks of it and where she thinks it came from. This being doesn't speak their language and brings unease or curiosity to anyone on the planet who sees it. Meza and Jiyah must navigate through the world with their new alien companion to find out who he is and where he came from, before the reason he appeared on the planet is revealed.

When Mandy loses her job, she thinks she’s hit rock bottom – until her plane is swallowed by a strange storm that sends her and everyone else on board 10,000 years into the future. At first, she thinks the scary world is nothing more than a bad dream. The war-torn Earth is unrecognizable. Black fog blocks the sun, and the oceans are dry. Even worse: the planet is inhabited by half-human, half-alien creatures dying from a mysterious disease. Horrified at the thought of spending her life here, she clings to the knowledge that there’s one man who can open the star gate to send her home. As the Naki prince who controls the star gate, Akkadi gets first choice of any human female that makes her way through the star gate. Only by breeding with purebred humans from the past can his race hope to remain immune to the disease and hopefully, develop an eventual cure. With shrinking resources and a raging battle for the human planet, dutiful, commanding Akkadi is less than thrilled at the idea of trying to figure out Mandy, a woman he views as wild with neither discipline nor respect for someone in his position. He’s ready to write her off, when she offers him something too tempting to resist: her body for the chance to convince him by any means possible to send her home. Neither intends for the arrangement to be permanent or to fall for the other. Only when Mandy learns Akkadi’s secret and walks away does he realize he’ll do whatever it takes to keep her – even if it means losing his war.

1 part Complete
It begins near the end, with a man intent on destruction, who feels most of his humanity has gone. As with so many others. Set in a future where almost all sentient life on earth no longer exists. Yet something remains. People continue to live as if nothing has changed, unaware that they are no more than copied memories running in an artificial substrate. In writing The Captured I've tried going some way to explore what defines sentience. And considered the following: Would a machine entity recognize the distinction between itself and biological life - if it could replicate thought and action? And if it could recreate the exact function of a living being what difference does it make whether as flesh or machine? But also this is a human story, though sometimes viewed from an alien perspective... Blurb: [Life is going well for Torbin. A successful career, a happy marriage. Then something strange happens ... and again. So he begins to wonder: has it all been a lie? There is someone who claims to have the answers, a man returned from the past - from the dead. Only it seems someone else wants the truth to remain hidden. An alien visits Earth to study its people. Disguised as a human, her involvement goes far beyond mere observation. She becomes embroiled in a struggle to save what remains of humanity. But already a machine intelligence has transformed Earth into an unrecognisable world, and continues to spread ceaselessly across the galaxy. Yet there is one way to stop them, a weapon held by an old enemy that could itself wipe out all sentient life. There are those who believe they can survive the ultimate destruction. But at what cost?]

The Winged

24 parts Complete

Surviving can be difficult when you're only a few inches tall. Fanged beasts see you as their prey, every creature is bigger than you, and the world seems to work against small things. Not to mention the struggles of getting from place to place... but the worst of it all? Humans. Once a year, every year, summer sweeps over the forest. The sun warms the leaves and the damp melts away until the world of the Winged flourishes. Those warm months are when survival becomes the hardest. Drawn by the beauty of the forest, humans of all kind invade the already dangerous home of the small Winged people. Fear of these monsters is shared throughout the tribes. One sacred piece of advice is known: avoid humans at all costs. They know only how to destroy and hurt. ___ Despite the protests of her close friend, Azure accepts a mission that takes her from the safety of her tribe. Things begin well despite her trepidation of the approaching summer months. That is, until she falls right into the hands of the very creatures she feared. ___ Completed! Beware of some crappy writing and stupid typos :0 Second part is on my account :) :)
