Maeve Kelly never thought she would ever get to see the ground. At least not in her lifetime. Especially since she was due to die in the next year when she turned eighteen. But without warning, her and ninety-nine other kids are sent to Earth. In awe of a place she had only see from space, Maeve feels like things might be looking up. Until they discover that they're not alone.
Realizing that they're trespassing on lands already discovered by people who survived the apocalypse, Maeve sets out to become her own person, free of the drama the Ark and those who come from it bring. But why does it seem like she always gets involved anyway? Especially when an arrogant prick like John Murphy is involved.

After Murphy is banished he never comes back and they all assume he's dead. A year passes and the Grounders and Sky people are no longer at war, but some Grounders still hate the delinquents.
