Y/n is the so-called hermit, a soul who time and time again stuck his neck out only to get it chopped, his heart broken more times than he'd like to admit, and shut himself into a house after another successfully published book with enough pocket change to not have to put up with people anymore.

With the single exception of his pre-teen neighbour Luz Noceda, he doesn't hate her but he regrets ever letting it slip he's a published author. He knows she means well, reminds him a lot of himself at her age and all the sour tales that followed that wide eyed naive boy.

Well his quiet life is quickly tossed upside down when he tries to help Luz catch a pesky owl in the woods only to find himself....

Enough spoilers, TLDR is bitter hermit author ends up transported to a new world where many odd new things and people come into his life.
