At first, Arabella expected the incoming text to be an apology from her idiot ex-boyfriend.

Instead, it was a message that shattered her entire world and changed everything forever.

Grandma Mabel was gone. Her rock, super hero, practical mother of over 23 years. Gone. Poof.

Reeling from the shock of Mabel's sudden passing, stricken with grief so fierce it seemed to seep from every pore, the young debt-addled waitress is tasked with cleaning out the old woman's things from a basement that probably hasn't seen sunlight since World War II.

But among the dust and clutter, there is an uncovered secret. A stolen identity, a plot to destroy the world, and a country that can't be found on any maps.

Just as Arabella thinks her life can't get any more strange and chaotic with menacing figures hiding around every corner, she meets Saffron on the city bus.

Only, Arabella shouldn't be able to see the other woman in the first place.

You've just woken in the woods, away from everything you know. You're dazed and confused, unable to comprehend what's just happened. As you are coming to, images flash before your eyes of the last few days. Your parents were taken by the police, you were forced to run, to leave everything behind, to save yourself and your sister. But she isn't here. You panic and look around, you stop. You remember. She too was taken, you are alone. For now. This is what happened to Alexander, his life has just been turned upside down. The year is 2415, the world has both evolved and devolved. It isn't how people imagined. Flying cars, robots in every house, telekinetic pencils. No, they are only in comic books. Self driving cars. No robots in houses, but workhouses instead. Telekinetic pencils... that's possible, if you are gifted with the power of telekinesis. There are dark truths hidden behind closed doors, that only few know. Truths that if they got out, would bring the downfall of the government. A government that has been deceiving people for generations. But they haven't been as careful as they thought, because 100 years ago, one guy found out their secrets. 100 years ago, one guy started the rebellion that would bring about the end. From burning books, rewriting history and breaking human rights, this government will stop at nothing to make it seem that they are doing good. But people have had enough, the secret came out before. It's only a matter of time until it happens again. This time by a group of people that no one expected. Together they work to find out the truth, but things have gotten worse over the last century and this may not only bring around the downfall of the government. Armed only the powers they were born with, the group do everything they can to discover the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. But many have tried and failed, do they really stand a chance? Alexander doesn't think so, but his main concern is finding his sister, Rosia.

WARNING: Sensitive content and strong language ahead. 1st chapter excerpt Well, fuck. I royally screwed up this time. Just like my grandma said I would. I can imagine her snickering and whispering "I told you so" underneath her ugly moustache. Hell, not whispering. Shouting it from the rooftops if she could climb there. The hag. Shit! Grandma, you were right. I ended up fucking up my life. I can only hope it was just mine and I didn't fuck up someone's else too. Fuck! I can't feel anything. I can't see, speak, or move, either. I think...No, I'm sure. I think I'm sure. Yep, I really fucked up this time. Ha! I bet these are the last seven minutes we all get, between life and death. My whole life should be flashing trough my eyes right...about...now... You can start now, Life! Clock's ticking. C'mon Harper, focus on your early memory and the rest will surely come...Let's get this over with. ... Hmm! Interesting... I guess I didn't have a life worthy of a moment like this. Yeah, it's probably for the best. Then I guess I can go now. There's no need for these seven minutes, Death. Take me... ... ...
