We tracked though the the boiling hot desert for over 12 hours. My legs grew weak, my eyelids become heavy, and I began to loose conscienceless. The old man's words echo in my head. " after the Night Fall strange things happen, mysterious beast lurk in the night. I warn you little girl, the night brings dark things beyond those walls." Brooke. Brooke! Wake up!" Tess yelled. Have you ever walked outside at night? When it's so dark and you can't see a thing at first? I often do that and I'm never afraid. Because I know that after a while my eyes will adjust to the dark and I will be able to make things stand out. I'm always safe. I always know where I am. But not today, it was so dark, all I could see was a suffocating darkness around me. Aria my wolf huffed in annoyance when even she couldn't see a thing or couldn't pick up a scent around us. 'Ophelia, what's happening?' she muttered. 'I don't know' I whispered back aloud. The words had barely left my mouth when I heard something running quickly in our direction. I ran, not knowing what direction I was going. I tripped over something and fell flat on my face. Feeling a presence behind me I screamed and tried to crawl away...
