Nina Valtoh grew up with a brutal upbringing in Meteor City, living on the streets. She was forced at an early age to grow tough and build strength as her parents never really cared about her, she hated being at home. She started to kill and steal at a young age. She also learned everything about nen from all the books she has ever read. With her few friends that she grew up with Chrollo, Feitan, Shizuku, Machi, and Shalnark never leaving eachothers sides, they stole things together and sometimes kill. Until one night when they decided to cause some havoc in the city... which caused some problems for the tight friend group...
