It was an ordinary day for Violet May, she was walking to her locker at school when suddenly she felt a pair of eyes on her back. When she turned around she acquired a new problem. That problem's name is Elijah. Elijah has green eyes with beautiful golden brown speckles in them, black hair that isn't too long or too short, he has freckles across his nose, and he becomes Violet May's biggest problem. Violet May, a girl whose 16 years old and about 5'3, has brown hair which she frequently dyes, blue eyes, and a serious problem.Violet lives for music, art, and dance. Unfortunately this socially awkward girl has no friends and doesn't plan on making any soon. She has some serious trust issues and this becomes an issue throughout the story. The government wants Violet. She has qualities about her that normal people do not possess. With striking violet eyes, pale skin that is immune to the sun, and her inability to age normally, she is valuable to them. Violet tries to live as normally as she can, never fully understanding what exactly makes her different. She closes herself off to everyone else but her sick mother. Until one day she meets Jackson Harris. Jack is everything that she isn't. Carefree, outgoing, and brave. She is hesitant to open up to Jack at first, but something about him calms her and allows her to trust him. Just when everything finally seems to be normal, her world is flipped upside down. The government is after Violet and she fears what they will do to her once in their grasp. She is forced to leave her home, and life, behind to save herself. She leaves for answers and the hope of safety. As she discovers more about herself and her abnormality, she realizes that she is much more powerful than she ever thought she was. But can she really stay out the government's grasp? Inspired by the internet rumor of Alexandria's Genesis.
