Rain drizzles gloomily around you, as your feet splat with each step. The darkness that surrounds is pushed back by the street lamps. As you trudge, with heart uninterested in what's around you, the toe of your shoe impacts with something, sending it skidding. Your eyes frantically search the sidewalk for the source of the noise. On the ground resting a few feet away lies a book. Bound in worn, brown leather and speckled with rain it begs you closer. Your hand stretches forward, grasping its binder. Although wet on the outside, the pages inside appear fine. Slowly, you edge open the cover. Scrawled on the inner cover are these words: 
"You are about to take a journey into the story of a boy. So let's not focus on the happily ever afters, but what is my reality.  You are now reading Phoenix's Journal.
