A World After Ours

The world, as we know it, has ended. An infection has spead and the ones touched by it have become flesh eating monsters. But, not everyone who gets infected looses their will. Some of them rise above everyone, the infection acting like a blessing. The "risen", as they call them. The ones who aquired certain gifts after being bitten. A lot of people thought they would be our saviors, but don't be fooled. These people are not human, they eat the same thing as the monsters; us.

This is the story of Darielle, a young 23 years old woman with raven hair. Accompanied by her sister, Malia, and her childhood friend, Jeremy, she tries to survive in this burning world. Soon, a tragedy hits the little trio and Dari gets bitten by an infected. But nothing happens. She doesn't become a monster or a risen. She stays... normal? Darielle needs to keep this a secret. But when she meets Kai, a powerful risen who can read people's minds, she knows she is in grave danger.
