Incommensurable Kindness

For some, kindness is found in the small, fleeting acts of goodness, a reminder of the pure, social nature of every precious human. For others, kindness is found in ensuring the best possible future for the incoming generations, even if it means crushing the present between the hands of progress. For the rarest of minds, however, kindness implies destruction, the sacrifice of everything for the sake of a brand new better world. Will they encounter change their mind? Will they accomplish their mission? Will they regret the choices they have made so far? Some believe that even the tiniest pebble thrown in the river of life can irreversibly shape the flow of existence in unpredictable ways, but can a ripple truly change the world? I inhaled her scent, making sure she wasn't on anything that I wouldn't want in my system, letting the sweet scent of her blood call to my hidden fangs. They descended and I nuzzled my way down her neck, teasing the flesh above the sweet spot before sinking my teeth into her, letting just a small taste of her blood touch my tongue. Midnight Moon
"Go find someone else to feed your ego. I'm busy" -- Having lost everything to the supernaturals they once thought just stories, humans find themselves struggling to survive. Not even their technology can help them this time. Follow Arlein Moore as she navigates her new life in this new, unnatural, world. ---- "MINE" Came a rumbling voice across the crowded street. "shit" The young girl makes eye contact with the stranger across the street before taking off into the dark forest behind her. She runs as fast as she can, dropping her previously important cargo in her desperation to get the river. She know she can't out run him for long, but she has to get her family's scent off her. She knows that he could hunt down her family because she dared to love another. She'd seen the horrors of those found to be like her, in love with another. She knew she wouldn't be able to live with herself if the monster chasing her hurt her family. The river comes into view when a bone curling growl sounds throughout the forest, shaking the trees. A few more seconds she thinks to herself, almost there. At the last step she jumps, flinging herself into the water. Frantically she scrapes at her skin to get their scents off, but knowing she can't be caught de-scenting she starting swimming down stream. Better to be caught running than them thinking you have something to hide.
