17 year old Taylor Shay has the perfect like. Perfect family, good student, barely gets in trouble,and always active. She was beautiful in everyone's eyes but hers. One day, that all changed.
After her parents die in a plane crash, Taylor and her brother, James, are forced to move in with their aunt on California. That means new school and no friends. She meets her best friend that will be there for her through thick and thin, and someone else. A boy. He's the school quarter back with a "bad boy" reputation. His name is Wesley.
They don't really pay much attention to each other until one day on a school field trip. Taylor and her class go to Madagascar on their first trip to help build a school and learn about the environment. On the first day, all of the students get to explore the island. Taylor and her best friend decide to go with Wesley and his best friend to a spring. They have the time if their lives. This small experience changes everything.
