A Promise To Keep

Aurora Aubrey Ravenwood is tired after her 15th resurrection. It seems no matter how or when she dies, she always comes back to life a few months before she is proposed to by Duke Thomas Maeberly and before her disastrous marriage to him. In her 16th resurrection, she storms to the Temple to find an answer from the Gods and Goddesses for her suffering.

Grand Duke Caspian Whitlock is puzzled by his repeated deaths and resurrections. And the cause of death is always the same: a piercing pain in his chest and then passing away in his sleep. He can't avoid it. He can't discuss it with anyone. And yet, when he hears the daughter of Count Ravenwood yelling and begging the Gods and Goddesses in the empty Temple for death, he can't help but feel that somehow, she is the key to his puzzle.

And so they make a deal: Caspian will protect Aurora from Duke Maeberly while she helps him find answers to their shared predicament. As they begin to share a life and home, they struggle to maintain the boundaries of their agreement to keep things platonic while fighting their attraction towards each other.

But sometimes, answers aren't so easy to find. And with Thomas Maeberly having kept secrets of his own, the bond between Caspian and Aurora and the answers to their mystery becomes even more twisted than before.
