Despite Angel begging him not to, Arackniss confronts Valentino about freeing Angel. Val knows he can't lose his star without some sort of trade off, so he takes a good look at Arackniss and comes up with a cruel plan. Angel can be free, if Arackniss can spend 6 months doing his job instead. Every day. Angel tries to talk him out of it, but with his mind made up, Arackniss agrees and makes a temporary deal with Valentino.
Pentious has been to Val's clubs before. A small attempt to find the Overlords weakness while causing him trouble. This time is different, though. There's a new face that he can't help but be enthralled by. Curious, he finds himself not causing any trouble at all, and even asking for services he's never bothered to try. As long as they're given by this particular spider. Enraptured, he finds himself falling for the man and asks to meet outside the clubs as well.
Even though Arackniss doesn't have much free time, he still agrees and meets Pentious off duty. One thing leads to another and he finds himself head over heels for the inventor with very little time left. However, after realizing his feelings, every sexual encounter that isn't with Pentious makes his skin crawl and his stomach turn. What is he to do when he still has a month left?
