When Ezra is stressed out from all the work and things that his professors assigned him, he feels like he can't keep up with the work but doesn't dare give up at the same time. After being comforted by his comrades, Ezra can now finally deal with all the work he's handling. Later in the school semester, Ezra and Sabine are walking across the football field to get to their destination when suddenly, a football is coming straight towards Sabine but Ezra catches it with one hand. Some other people come over to them and apologize. One of the guys were impressed with Ezra's catch and offers him to be on the school's football team. Ezra takes time to think about it and is hesitant at first. Will Ezra join the Rebel's Phoenixes or will he stay out of football and continue his daily routines at Rebel University? Bound for unknown space, there are tales of many dangers that might get in the way of finding Ezra. Sabine is conflicted. She plans to destroy anything that might try to stop her from finding Ezra, but still wants to help people. Ahsoka wants to find Ezra just as much as Sabine does, but fears she (Sabine) may create more problems than she will solve. They both intend to stay out of the way of anyone doing their own thing, but something is brewing in the Unknown Regions, and it may be up to Sabine and Ahsoka to stop it. However, Thrawn has his own Agenda, one that involves Ezra and Sabine, and he is determined to see it through to the end. Thrawn isn't the only one with a hidden agenda. The Irizi family have their own plans for Ezra and his friends, and it may involve an unlikely alliance among the several beings to escape not just with their lives, but with a chance at ever seeing the rest of their friends again!

Meanwhile, in orbit and unaware of just how desperate her friends are in their battle against the Grysk and the cold, Ahsoka Tano must work with Thrawn, and Ezra's Rakata mentor: Soa, to try and provide much needed support to their allies trapped on the ground. As the battle rages, Ezra's student Thrana, left without a teacher, turns to Ahsoka to resume her training on a temporary basis.
