Former investigator Mr Hilton is on a crime he did not commit and, with the little money he has, travels to Amsterdam to take camp in a local hotel where he believes nobody will be able to catch him. Whilst the enemy plays a game with his life behind the curtain, the mysteries follow him to the Hotel Azure, as the Hotel is set on fire overnight, and the valuable belongings of one of its most affluent residents, Lady Pembrooke, are the only casualties of the arson attack. Hilton draws together his list of suspects to figure out who was responsible for the burglary as he is forced back into his former way of life. He soon realises, however, he has other matters to worry about. Somebody in the Hotel knows who he is, and they want his money. And somebody else, even further away from him, has a connection to his past which may open up some doors he would rather remained closed.

𝗧𝗲𝗹𝗹 𝗺𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗱𝗮𝗿𝗸 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝗿𝗲𝘁𝘀... 𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝗜 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽 𝘆𝗼𝘂. My job as a therapist is simple. I talk to my clients, find out what's bothering them, and make sure to listen when they open up to me. Then after a month or more of one-on-one sessions, they leave my office a reformed individual, a happy individual. EXCEPT THAT ISN'T WHAT HAPPENS. Someone IS killing my clients. The cops think I'm hiding something from them because I'm the ONLY thing connecting the victims of this killer. How do I prove I'm innocent, and all I want is for the murders to stop? Then the ANONYMOUS ENVELOPES start showing up. In each envelope is an item belonging to my dead client. The killer is reaching out. If I don't act quickly, another body will drop, AND IT WILL BE MY FAULT. 𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩'𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙖𝙗𝙤𝙪𝙩? 𝘼 𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙤𝙛 𝙜𝙧𝙞𝙨𝙡𝙮 𝙢𝙪𝙧𝙙𝙚𝙧𝙨 𝙩𝙖𝙠𝙚𝙨 𝙖 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙖𝙥𝙞𝙨𝙩 𝙙𝙤𝙬𝙣 𝙖𝙣 𝙞𝙣𝙫𝙚𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙜𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙥𝙖𝙩𝙝. Who would want to kill a time-travelling librarian? Time-travelling police detective Erik Midgard thought he had changed his fate. But now he is burdened with new knowledge that suggests the future is more flexible than he thought. He might not have escaped his predicted destiny after all. To make things worse, he has another murder to solve. At the solar system's greatest university on the moon, a group of historians and their students are using time travel to recover the great lost libraries of ancient civilisations. Travelling back to times before these libraries were destroyed, they are secretly recording the contents of all the books and bringing the data safely back to the present. They have saved the entire collections of the libraries of Alexandria, Ctesiphon, Nalanda, the Serapeum, the House of Wisdom in Baghdad and the Mayan libraries of the Yucatan and have many more still to rescue. They have already learnt countless new facts about the civilisations that created these libraries and the project has so far been an unqualified success. But when the professor who founded the project is found dead, it very quickly becomes clear to Erik and his partner Mirabi that something else is going on. Newly promoted after their success at the Time Traveller's Ball, this should be a straightforward murder investigation. But the project's staff, students and security guards are all hiding more secrets than the libraries they have rescued contain, and at least one of them is prepared to kill to protect them. But as they search for answers, Erik starts to suspect that one of the secrets might just be a way to solve the unsolvable. And if it is, could it also be a way for him to save himself?

Your average detective story- A firm detective and a druggie work together to solve a murder. *** Wait!" I grip his forearm tightly, my fingers digging into his skin, and force him to turn around and face me. I search his eyes for any hint of emotion, but he remains stoic, the only indication of his inner turmoil being the tears that glisten in the corners of his eyes. "I know you didn't commit the murder," I say, my voice low and urgent. "But if we don't find the real killer soon, you'll be sent to prison." The gravity of the situation hangs heavily in the air between us, and I can feel my own anxiety skyrocketing. His response is immediate, his frustration palpable. "If you know I didn't do it, then why the hell aren't you out there looking for the killer?" he snaps, venom dripping from every word. I take a deep breath, trying to steady myself. "I am," I say, my voice barely above a whisper. "I just have this feeling that the killer is hiding somewhere in this part of town. And I need your help to find them." "Ha," he chuckles, his coarse voice sending shivers down my spine. "You want me to help you? Now why the hell would I help your naked mole rat-looking ass?" As he sneers, I can't help but notice how his lips curl up in disgust at the sight of me.
