Emilia Reyes and her sister moved to the Outerbanks 4 years ago and since then, her life has been perfect. Okay, that's a lie, living on the cut sucks but at least she has the best group of friends a girl could ask for, the Pogues. The 4 are her family, she'd do anything for them. JJ had always thought the feisty Latina was attractive, and she thought the same. The only issue was they were best friends. They loved each other but their personalities clashed in a way that made a relationship impossible.

Emilia and JJ couldn't deny the obvious tension between them so they made a deal. They would become friends with benefits, no string attached, no feelings involved, and they could date/ hookup with whoever they pleased. For over a year, this plan has worked perfectly for them. Emilia and JJ are just as good friends as before just with added benefits.

But when the Pogues are thrown into a treasure hunt, the group has to face endless challenges. Emilia begins to realize that her and JJ may be meant for more than just friendship.

Maybe the love between them is too treacherous to trust.
