A sizeable number of the more than 121,000 foundations in the US -19,888- indicate that they do not accept unsolicited proposals.

We also know that a significant number of current and past FoundationSearch members (more than 16,000) do not approach them for that reason. Is there a missed opportunity here?

Many grant seekers believe that these funders are "captive funders" that act to support a single non-profit such as a school or hospital; or they have a small list of charitable organizations they wish to support and are not receptive to solicitations from new charities. In fact, many of our FoundationSearch users "tag" these foundations in order to exclude them from searches and prospect lists altogether.

But is this really an effective or advisable strategy?

Internet research on the topic reveals that Bradley Smith, the President of Foundation Center, wrote about this topic in 2011 in a blog post entitled "Don't Call us, We'll Call You". In this piece, he addresses some of the reasons why foundations state that they do not accept unsolicited proposals - the two principal reasons he cites are - one, a desire by funders to limit the volume of requests they are receiving, and two, a desire to proactively choose charities to fulfill their strategic goals. Unfortunately, he did not examine how pervasive the issue is with foundations, and we found no other credible research on the matter. So as such, we decided to do our own.

To do this, we conducted a comprehensive review of FoundationSearch data spanning more than fifteen years of US granting history for over 75,000 grantmaking foundations including more than 10 million grants to gain some insight.

Great! But who are you to judge? Fair question. This is not to humble-brag, but I've been critiquing and have worked with story development for quite some time, and I've picked up a lot along the way. ☙ - As an Ambassador, I work on content projects. ☙ - If you look at my profile, you'll see everything I've published so far has managed to standout in one way or another, whether by leading me to become a Wattpad Star; or by winning a Watty (twice!); or by being picked as a Top 10 in major Wattpad contests (twice!); or being featured. All I'm saying is I'm no slouch. I'm not brilliant either. While her best friend Cassidy snacks on brie and boys in France, Darcy Li-Quinn must face her last year of high school and the unpredictable wrath of her sister, Danica, alone. Darcy's plan for dealing with Danica and her heinous friends is simple-be invisible. But first, she's promised Cassidy she'll do 'one brave thing'. Mustering the courage to say 'hi' to the cute boy on the bus, Darcy expects rejection or indifference. She doesn't anticipate a grumpy ghost with unfinished business who needs her help. Suddenly, a quiet year of flying under the radar looks increasingly unlikely. *** Rationally, Hunter Viera knows that his brother's death wasn't his fault. But that doesn't stop his guilt about Archer invading his every thought or lessen the grief sitting heavy in his chest. Changing schools offers a fresh start, and Hunter's plan is simple-be invisible. But he hasn't counted on Darcy, or her ludicrous claim that Archer speaks to her from beyond the grave. Suddenly, a quiet year of sitting on the sidelines looks increasingly unlikely. *** This is a story about hearts and hope and public transport. This is Darcy and Hunter's story (and a little bit Archer's too). *** 'Get A Life' is my entry for Open Novella Contest 2023 and is inspired by the following prompts. 20. You finally build enough courage to talk to that cute someone you see every day on the bus. Their face turns dark as they respond "You shouldn't be able to see me." 9. There's an urban legend that's been circulating for years about a taxi cab that doesn't take you where you want to go, but where you need to go. One night, you stepped into this cab.

(Jeremiah 29:11-13 niv) ******** Her main list of standards before saying yes to a man are: • True believer of God/ man of God. • Has a good relationship with God. • Love God with everything he has. • Ask her hands from her parents before the courting. • And so on... At the age of twenty-eight, Lois is considered an old maid by her neighbors, friends, and some relatives. Though she enjoys her singleness, sometimes pressure puts her to think, is she willing to lower her standards just to be married? People said her standards are too high and nobody will ever reach there, especially in this time of the 21st century. Now come a suitor that promised to do everything to make her happy if just given a chance but as she looked closely he is the total opposite of the man she is looking for. Is he worthy for the chance? ••••••••••••••• Doctor Andro Leo Mercado-Martinez is; a former professional violinist of his country's orchestra symphony, a successful professor at one of the top Universities in the United States, a researcher with many publications, young and eligible but doesn't care about the word marriage. For him, one scar is enough for a man to learn his lesson in the matter of the heart. What he has is enough for him to rejoice. Warning ⚠️ ‼️‼️‼️this is not a happy ending book, the male lead in this book is evil to the end. Explicit mature themes, kidnapping, manipulation, bounding, tortured. This book is not recommended for readers under 18 and those triggered by any of the above. ... I saw the corner of his mouth twitch and before I could comprehend anything he tightened his hold on my throat, my mouth was already slightly open so he had the opportunity to shove a gun in my mouth. I tried to move back away from him but he tightened his hold and shove the gun farther down my throat causing me to make loud gurgling choking sounds, the taste of metal, fire and smoke spread into my taste buds causing me to gag, that's the same gun he had shot my father with. "Do you have trouble speaking? I'll help you talk my love, there must be something stuck in your throat?" He said shoving the gun deeper, by now the base of his pistol was pressed down against my lips as I choked loudly. I screamed and jumped in fright as he pulled the trigger. Nothing, No bullets were fired. The force of the gun shook my whole body. I gargled and shook my head no repeatedly, but he wasn't satisfied. he squeezed my throat and completely blocked my airway. By now I started panicking more as I could no longer breathe, what does he want me to say?? please just stop this. "I merry gyou" I somehow managed to gargle those words out hoping he hears them. My mouth tastes like metal and I could taste blood as well, the force of the gun being shoved down my throat scratched the inside of my mouth.

"The Cave You Fear To Enter Hold The Treasure You Seek." Are you someone who believes in something beyond our understanding-a person who says, "There's something out there, but we won't know it until we can"? Who told you that the "right moment" even exists when time itself is a construct created by humans? Honestly, I'd suggest you put this book down and not waste your time, because everyone has their own "right time" to understand what I'm trying to convey here. I recorded myself while talking about things I had never even heard of before as a non religious person with lacking GOD concept. . It was me, yet it felt like an upgraded version of myself guiding me to develop further. This version of me presented an option: What if everything you know, everything you've been, and everything you've labeled could be erased, allowing you to start over and build a completely new sense of self? HER said, "If you're not ready to understand who I am and what I'm trying to say, then 'QUIT.' Because it took immense time, pain, and experience for you to endure and evolve to reach me and sustain this communication." And so, I did. The book you'll be reading is a transcript of the audio I recorded. Interestingly, it resembles a religious text-though, believe me, I didn't intend it to. It just happened. Later, I searched for the first "God word" that corresponded with specific numbers through the transcripts, and I discovered connections to related verses across 12 major global religions, smaller religions, indigenous beliefs, new religious movements, denominations, and sects which you will find them in the book. But here's the truth: everyone is capable of understanding-once they reach the right intellectual and spiritual evolution. I assume you've decided to stay. So, what if I told you that to truly be born into real reality, you must first experience a kind of death?....

The disciples woke him and said to him, "Teacher, don't you care if we drown?" - Mark 4:38 When Rose told Jack she would never let go, Abigail may have taken it to heart a little too much. Chase Jones. The name alone fills her with dread, and Abigail is pretty positive she'll hold this hatred in her heart until the moment she takes her final breath. Not only was he her personal bully for years; he was also the son of her father's military commander, making her seem like easier prey. But things take an unexpected, one-hundred-and-eighty degree turn when she stumbles upon a secret he tried so desperately to keep hidden. She begins to dream of life in foster care through the eyes of a little boy who wants nothing more than to experience unconditional love. To him, it would be like living in a fairytale. The kind of fairytale Abigail has lived in her entire life. After hearing about a family in need, Abigail finds her heart breaking for whoever they might be. Being the helper that she is, she decides to volunteer herself, but soon discovers just who she signed up to help. She knows this won't be easy. What she has yet to fully grasp is that, just as every storm has a starting point, every person has a story, and every story has at least one storm.

Tinker, Tailor, Solider, Spy and a Guy. The talented twists of souls that combine to make the club are intertwined with the harsh reality of addiction. Did you know that people whom have addictions generally also are prone to high intelligence. As per Verata Health: Specifically, the study found that men who had a mean IQ score of 109 (the highest in the study) were trying drugs much earlier and also used drugs more frequently than those who tested with an IQ of 100. So the questions go through your hypothesis. Yes, each parent, friend, partner or loved one asks these questions! WHY?? These hypotheses argue that intelligent people who use drugs: Are easily bored - As a result, they look for new and novel things to push their mind. Drugs, being a dangerous and risky thing, entertain and even challenge their minds. Need new challenges - Success often comes easily to intelligent people and they may need to overcome new challenges regularly in order to feel a sense of personal progress. And what is more difficult than beating addiction? Try to fuel their creative fires - Intelligence and creativity are highly linked and the myth that drug use helps fuel creative genius has been spread for centuries. Unfortunately, this may lead intelligent people to try drugs. The Swear I Never Would Club consists of many members. I'd like to introduce you too some of them, if you'll let me. These stories are loosely based on people I've met throughout my journey through addiction and beyond. I am writing this as I experienced it through real situations and twisted tales. Enjoy the ride.

"WHY CAN'T YOU GET IT INSIDE YOUR HEAD?" He trapped my trembling body between his arms and slammed his fist into the wall. I flinch at the sound as I feel tears forming in my eyes. "I'M SICK AND TIRED OF YOUR CRYING. JUST ACCEPT THE FACT THAT YOU'RE NEVER LEAVING. THIS IS YOUR LIFE NOW, WITH ME" He spits, anger consuming his voice as I push myself further against the wall. Shutting my eyes closed and turning my face to the side as I do. Moments later, I feel his rough hand on my waist and his finger grazing my cheek. "Look at me, love." His hand grips onto my jaw, his thumb playing across my lower lip. He turns my face to meet his as I lower my gaze to the floor. He lowers himself to my level and I feel his breath fanning my cheek causing my breathing to become unsteady. "I love you so much, darling. But you need to learn.
