Blades Among The Jewels

Harmeni, daughter of a king and queen has been raised artistically based and thus for; thrives with anything in the arts. She's taught grace and charm, but always still feels slightly empty. She manages to cover up that feeling with distracting herself by hosting social gatherings and throwing herself into her gentle feminine tasks and duties; until one day when an army of attackers rampages the castle and makes their way to the castle grounds and into the king and queen's chamber before they can be rushed underground into hiding. The King and Queen are rumored to have been murdered when everyone comes out of hiding, however, no bodies are found to prove such rumors. Harmeni is distraught, and lives each day as the guards search for her parents in torment, until she decides to take matters into her own hands. She takes up learning in secret the skills of archery, and knife work. Wanting to further her knowledge, she begins an apprenticeship with a mysterious stable man, Keaturan....who knows much more than a simple stable boy should; having dark secrets and hidden pasts of his own.
