Crush

I looked up at the boy in confusion as he held out his hand signaling me to bring my hand to his. I had two options in this situation I could walk away and be a jerk or take his hand, let him pull me up off the concrete, and take away his guilt of almost running me over. I decided to be the better person and take his hand. He apologized profusely, but I kept reassuring him I was fine.

We parted ways when he picked up his bicycle and headed back up the small hill where he had came from. I looked over my shoulder and watched him, perplexed on why he suddenly had changed his course. I figured it wasn’t worth worrying about and completely forgot about the situation as I brushed the dirt of my new jeans. I hurried along the sidewalk to prevent being late to work.
