16 year old, Jamie Sniegowski, attends Emerson High School, with her best friend Quinn Spiteri. Jamie's two elder brothers already left home, and it is just her and her parents. She comes from a very wealthy, strict Jewish family, and is obsessed with fashion, yet she isn't your typical rich, popular, girly-girl. She is in multiple AP classes, and spends her time focusing on school work, instead of socializing more. Her best friend, Quinn, is the athletic type and spends most of her time playing basketball on the school team. Quinn has an unhealthy obsession with Beyoncé and also has a quirky flare to her personality. Eventually, the two reveal there feelings to each other, and start dating. This however, leads to bullying, and homophobia among the school. They have to not only stand up for themselves and there relationship, but for the other LGBT kids, who they meet along the way, at there school.
