Odin finds out that the Vanir of Vanaheim plans to wage war on the Asgardians. To make matters worse, the All-Father has been slowly dying from an illness, for he knows that he cannot win the war with him as the King of Asgard.

Heimdallr, the protector of the Bifröst and the whitest of the gods, is one of the 4 gods Odin chose, for one of them would become the new king of Asgard. Heimdallr is excited, until he finds out that Loki is one of the gods Odin chose.

Heimdallr does not care if he does not get to sit on the throne, all he wants is for the God of Mischief to not have it. Heimdallr, with the help of Baldur, try their very best to not only emerge victorious from the Æsir-Vanir war, but to also prevent Loki from taking on the mantle as the King of Asgard.

(This book is a retelling of Norse mythology. It is not a fan-fiction of any sort.)
