Exile of your Heart

"Cecelia!" I heard him call. He's here. He came.

I turned around to face him. The sunset light made him look so gorgeous. I always liked his eyes in the sunlight. His breath was frantic, probably from all the running.

"Don't leave, please," he said and tears filled my eyes. "Stay."
It looked like it took a lot for him to say these words. But it's not enough of a reason for me to stay. Hope was fluttering strong in my heart.

"Why?" I asked him. I wanted to know. I watched as he struggled for an answer. He doesn't have one. He never did. I nodded, my tears falling freely now. I didn't bother to hide them.
My feet felt heavy when I walked away, and my heart even heavier. All the memories of us together started playing in my mind like a film. But I didn't stop, I left him.
