Long ago, Maleficent, the dark fey and the sworn protector of the Kingdom of Moors, fell in love with a young prince named Stefan from the neighboring human kingdom; Norwood. When they made love and had a daughter, Maleficent dreamed of having a perfect family. But Stefan chose the crown, stole Maleficent's child, brought the baby to his kingdom, and tricked the dark fey about their daughter's death.

Devastated and wrecked, Maleficent cursed Stefan's child with Queen Leila - a curse placing baby Aurora into eternal sleep, and could only be awakened by a true love's kiss on her 16th birthday. And it was a curse that no power on earth could alter.

Years passed by and Masyra, a blood half of human and a dark fey, finds herself in a depth of madness and deception, a sister against a sister, a kingdom against a kingdom, a crown against her existence, and herself against her nature.
