Dreams await awakening

Wake me when it's over this forbidding apparition
Casting hopelessness across the land like shadows
Descending forever into depths of gloomy night's
Conquering nightmare from which we may never wake
Even by chance we do within this inclement climate
Which surrounds us with its embrace of impending doom
Should our struggle to avoid such anguish never prevail
We will forever find ourselves within the death grip
Of some overwhelming odd we never prepared would be
Thus we must be eternally vigilant to secure our liberty
From the realm of surrounding control and sorrow
To resurrect our hopes and dreams for a brighter tomorrow
Where we know full well all our lives should forever see
Each new morning as we awake once upon a time soon
Until then I live my life in dream, as we all must do to survive
For until that new dawn greets us we will never be fully alive
