Its strange form was silhouetted by the flickering light coming from the living room.
 
Enid let out a soft gasp, stopping herself from screaming, and immediately backed up to get out of the creature's vision. It had already turned around, its large faceted eyes surveying her. It held up its hands and glanced toward the living room as she stumbled back into her room and slammed the door shut. She listened to the clicking of the thing's feet as it moved into the living room and back to her door.
 
"Get out!" she yelled through the door, scurrying over to her bed and grabbing up her revolver. When she moved back to the door, she could hear some soft tapping but it wasn't the sound of it walking away.
 
She screamed again. "Get out!"
 
No response. Enid took a deep breath and slowly pulled the door open before swinging it wide and lifting her gun up to aim at the thing's chest. The creature backed up a step, lifting its clawed hands, one of which was holding a white screened tablet.
 
Enid took another step forward, forcing the thing to take a step backward as it slowly moved the tablet toward her. "Out," she growled, ready to squeeze the gun's trigger.
 
The thing pressed the device toward her and she finally glanced down at it. It had printed on the bright screen in capital, black letters:

Lily nodded as he continued giving her the gun lesson. She was shocked this is why he brought her in here. Maybe he was getting her ready for training. But her, no one else. "Alright, you take the magazine out. It has a magazine release button you must press first." He slid a black piece out of the gun, it was where the bullets were stashed. "Then, you load it up. I won't do that right now. But after that, you shove it back in. Then you cock the gun back, find a target and pull the trigger." "Oh, so it's that easy." She smirked. "Yeah, but how good is your aim?" He returned the smirk. His hands still clasped over hers holding the gun. "Well, do you think you can handle a gun now?" "I think so." She liked the warmth of his palms and the calluses on them. "Cold metal was the first thing that I felt against my skin. Then came the sensation of being strapped down by my wrists and ankles. Why was I strapped down? My eyes blinked open slowly, in a daze. I saw men and women in surgical gear running around wildly. The blare of alarm pierced the fog around my mind and I saw emergency lights flashing. What was happening? I saw a woman, her brown eyes wild with fear, undo the straps on my wrists and legs. My head fell to the side and I witnessed one man pounce on the other, then a squirt of blood shoot high into the air as the first man bit into the others neck. I couldn't move without serious concentration, and even then, I could only move a little. I was helpless as I lay on this metal table. I knew that I was going to die. I was an easy target. I closed my eyes, waiting for the inevibility of the man to attack me. Nothing came though, and when I cracked my eyes open, I was alone in the room. What? Just then, I heard a loud bang and I saw a man with a gun burst through the door, an infected woman, the one who had just untied me, leaping at him. They fell into the table I was on, and the entire thing flipped. I was tossed onto the ground, landing hard. My head cracked against the concrete and everything went black, and the last sound I heard were the man's screams."
