A Life To Remember

"Show me the life we used to have." Her voice comes out in a low whisper.

I take a step forward, bringing my hand to rest against her cheek. My eyes start to water as I take her in. She's been the same since we were Kids.

"You think you're ready?" I ask, my eyes dancing around hers.

Letty snakes her hands around my waist, her fingers pressing into my skin. No words leave her mouth as she presses her lips onto mine.

Mari and Letty were happy and in love. Everyone around them called them soulmates. They had a life they wanted to build together. But a mission went sideways and now Mari is left to live in a world without Letty. So, she waits held up in the house until grief takes its final breath in her body but then her Uncle comes to deliver false hope.
