Humanity found the Refinery. It was a massive mobile space station that had the power to terraform planets into livable worlds. Thus, the three planets, Primus, Oasis, and Arconite were forged and colonized around the Emerald Star, a solar system far from earth.

When colonists revolted against their governing power, Primus turned the Refinery against its purpose. It became a weapon, used to terrifying effect on Arconite.

On Arconite, planet destroyed by the fires of war the only rule is survival. Erika Niels had no advantage, no help, only her wits and the aim of her weapon to last in this savage society. She takes the name of headhunter in the mercenary bounty hunter force that polices the desolate planet. She has a dream of one day buying her way to one of the verdant, wealthy planers, Oasis, or Primus.

Harolde's mother was responsible for the calamity that forged Arconite into what is is today. And she paid a terrible price for it. Harolde lives with her on Primus, in a dazzling city of bustle and lights on the surface, with a cesspool of corruption and overpopulation beneath. Harolde seeks to right his mothers wrong, rebuild the Refinery, and fix Arconite. But someone with motives for death, and revenge, has set his sights on the young genius.

Erika and Harolde find themselves thrown together in a fight for their lives, and their souls. Ideals once written in stone must be changed, and abandoned as the both are forced to reconsider what they will sacrifice to survive.

"Three weeks. That's how long I got to have drama-free. I'm not sure what is happening to me or to Oakwood. Nothing's the same since I rolled into town and it just keeps getting weirder. Suspicious agents in suits roam the streets without an explanation. They're staring straight at me. The new Chemistry teacher is NOT who he says he is. I'm doing things I never thought I could. Like, mutant-level things... Lauren, Luc's dead twin sister, hid something from everyone. Something important that may have lead to her demise and that could lead to ours. Hunters are in town. I never knew four words could contain so much dread and terror. I'd rather deal with the Wanderers. I'm on the brink of a breakdown. I need help..." BOOK #2 IN THE SERIES! Ignorance is not bliss... In the wake of ridding Oakwood of Wanderers, other dangers come creeping in and they're somehow linked to Luc's absent twin. The past returns to haunt the mutants in inconspicuous ways. Riley's life is yet again in jeopardy, but this time she's not alone. Luc and his family are all thrown into the teetering balance. More secrets are uncovered. A trap dawns on them all. Invisible threats start crawling from all directions. Who is the real enemy? TW : behaviours of depression and PTSD are displayed. I don't name them, but one of the character will be struggling a lot. It may not be suitable for everybody. Other adult matters are briefly included, but nothing explicit or intense. Rewriting specifications : the main points of the story and end of the book will remain the same, am just going to change a few ways of getting there and adding some extra spice. Feel free to pause the read until the REWRITING sign disappears.

( discontinued to be rewritten ) Huntingtown was panicking; no one knew where the sirens were coming from. There was no electricity, and there was no way for the storm Sirens to be sounding, yet they were. The entire Town was awake; everyone had a weapon. They had grabbed guns, knives, swords, and bats if they could be wielded and used for self-defense; Renee aimed her rifle at the trees, looking desperately for an explanation. Why would a siren sound? They only sounded when they were in Danger, so where was the Danger? When the predators revealed themselves, that was where the siren noise was coming from. Renee could feel her heart jump into her throat. Her face went pale; they were here. They had found the Town. Terror and panic soon swept Huntingtown; everyone knew what those monsters could do. After all, they did conquer the planet and impose the "choosing." Huntingtown was created hoping that its isolation in a cold climate would keep the Predators away, but it didn't. A voice came over those speakers. A male voice Gruff and laced with a growl. It was almost as if whoever was speaking was annoyed and angry. "Although I have enjoyed seeing your little Town outmaneuver many hunters. I am afraid this is where your little games end. However, I will give you a chance to keep your freedom. A hunt. You will be red by your best hunter, Renee Madison." Renee felt her blood go cold as she stared wide-eyed at the ship. She was unknowingly dropping her gun at the news. " she will be your leader; she will be my prize. You have a time advantage. Go!" The ship took off, looking for a place to land, all while the news sank into the Town's residence. Renee had known she had fucked up when she fired at one of those predators and hit him. She had proven herself worthy of the hunt. Now she has to face the consequences, not only her but her entire Town had to. Renee had to win this hunt; the fate of her Town depended on it.

Through thick and thin the Law shall prevail. A new sense of purpose awaits us, children of light, in the land where it all began. The darkness in which we once cowered in fear, now curbed by the might of our endless light. Come, brothers, come, sisters. Let there be peace among the wicked, just as the Law dictates. Peace and certainty is all that you have ever longed for, little angel. A bright, stable future. A roof without holes above thy head. Acknowledgement and recognition of thy existence, feverish dreams of grandeur. Greed born from yearning, treacherous vines of rapacity taint your innocent soul. You seek a future that does not exist. Let thy fingers hold the fragile line between dream and nightmare. Let thy light navigate the path. Shall thee give in and falter, O' land of old, envelop his body in thy unending flame of chaos. Spit out nothing but an empty husk, the remnants of a smile once so bright. Shall thee prevail, O', Great Kazdel, I ask of you, the impossible - take mercy on the innocent. Don't let the radiance dim and don't let the mind turn bleak. Wake, young traveler. Bid thy farewells and burn thy bridges. It's time to say goodbye, curly head. Cross post from AO3. For a shorter and more on-point description, look no further! I had something silly written up before throwing it out in exchange for that wall of text upstairs. It's a little story "about a young, dumb sankta who's been dealt a bad hand at life, looking for his place in all this mess. The pointless search for a better future leads him far, far away from home, to a country forever ravaged by war and misery - Kazdel, the promised land where devils roam free and peace feels out of place." Anyway, it's quite lengthy, but hopefully enjoyable? Slide a comment if you want, I'll give you a tiny kiss on the forehead. Man, do I love comments. (Lastly, to point out, English is not my native language, but I don't think it'll be much of an issue ;3)

Lotticia Andrews had spent her entire life behind the walls of her library. Her father raised her to be selfish, and to fear the outside, and even after his death- she never left. A knife, a dog, a journal, and anxiety are all her father left her with. And books- hundreds of books. Then a Warrior general stomps his way into her life- trampling her solitary and lonely life. He's loud and obnoxious, imposing- but there seemed more beneath his hard exterior. His personality was a weapon he wore like his armor. General Christoph was a harsh leader compared to his predecessor Zelle. The warrior who trained him and chose him to continue in his footsteps after his death. He was bitter and cynical- and didn't intend to take another woman after his mate had died all those years ago. But things don't always go according to plan- he never meant to stumble upon a small female, nor her furry big-eyed dog. Christoph needed this human, for her knowledge and the language she could help them to understand her hand language. A small group, a one-day trip- that was all it was supposed to be. But then no one expected poachers, Another human female, or the natural cycle and what it could do to the human body. Christoph had completely underestimated the trip. Now war has broken out and tensions rise- both buried feelings and skeletons come falling out of the closet. Can this spunky smart girl survive the Palace's wrath? Can Christoph face the reality that things aren't always what they seem nor black and white? Will Lassie play her part- and find her way home? Who knows- maybe humanity was doomed on Earth- but that won't be Lottie or her dog- because she's willing to do whatever it takes to get moved up to the front of the list. Even if it means dealing with the palace, poachers, and skrill alike.

No one knows exactly how they were able to make such a infection, but it was capable of destroying nearly all life on Earth. Those who couldn't hide or make it to the ships to escape their home planet, were left for the Irinauts. Luna and a small team of scientists had come in hopes for finding a cure for the strange virus, only to find the virus had taken over most of The Solar Sun, following a few escaped Irinauts. Some fates are worse than death--survival is one of them. In the two hundred years since humanity left the Earth's surface to live in the sky, life on the ground faded to a myth, a tragic memory from which they severed themselves to survive. They floated above continents turned to sand and lands swallowed by the seas, watched storm after storm rage against their cities and their monuments until they broke apart the last vestiges of civilization in penance for generations of human greed. As a lightning harvester charged with flying her ship into these storms for energy, Raina has seen more of the planet than most. She has spent her entire life soaring above its craters and scars, studying the gaping wounds of human devastation, as she honed her skills and became the youngest captain in storm-chaser history. Her ship has flown for generations. Her skills are unparalleled. But none of that matters the day they go down. ~ Praise for Earth, After: "I'm so not ready for this ending.
