Humanity found the Refinery. It was a massive mobile space station that had the power to terraform planets into livable worlds. Thus, the three planets, Primus, Oasis, and Arconite were forged and colonized around the Emerald Star, a solar system far from earth.

When colonists revolted against their governing power, Primus turned the Refinery against its purpose. It became a weapon, used to terrifying effect on Arconite.

On Arconite, planet destroyed by the fires of war the only rule is survival. Erika Niels had no advantage, no help, only her wits and the aim of her weapon to last in this savage society. She takes the name of headhunter in the mercenary bounty hunter force that polices the desolate planet. She has a dream of one day buying her way to one of the verdant, wealthy planers, Oasis, or Primus.

Harolde's mother was responsible for the calamity that forged Arconite into what is is today. And she paid a terrible price for it. Harolde lives with her on Primus, in a dazzling city of bustle and lights on the surface, with a cesspool of corruption and overpopulation beneath. Harolde seeks to right his mothers wrong, rebuild the Refinery, and fix Arconite. But someone with motives for death, and revenge, has set his sights on the young genius.

Erika and Harolde find themselves thrown together in a fight for their lives, and their souls. Ideals once written in stone must be changed, and abandoned as the both are forced to reconsider what they will sacrifice to survive.

Guns, revenge and buildings to bomb, what could go wrong? ✮ He came in, gun held out in front of him in one hand while the other was resting on his hip where a sharp dagger gleamed in the light. "Come on out little girl, why not make this easier for both of us. The agency you ran away from just want to have a little talk, that's all." She scoffed internally. Yeah right. Then the footsteps ceased. She peeked to the right, then to the left. Neither direction showed any sign of the intruder. She looked up in front of her and gasped, the glint of steel and smell of death as overwhelming as it was adrenaline inducing, exciting. "Boo." ✮ Murder, accidents, assassinations. Call it what you will, it's all the same, all has the same life breaking, mind shattering consequences - be it for the victim or the bystander. It had shaped Alex in a way no one should be. Broken down and rebuilt into the perfect soldier, one who had the power to change the world, to fight battles that would either make or break the carefully constructed vision we all live in. The only small, minute, really unimportant detail - it's pretty hard to get into a government classified site when you're 15 years old and have a rag-tag team of double-crossing back-stabbers behind you. Not to mention the threat of a world war and ghost hanging above your head. Armed with sarcasm, wit, and a hell of a lot of aggressive intentions, it won't be too long till a sticky situation is all that's ahead of you. Sometimes, running head-first into a situation isn't the best idea. Instead, you gotta play a game. A deadly game where either you have all the pieces on the board, or you have nothing. [previously known as Espionage: double-cross] Thanks for reading :)

"Hold this for me." He held out a handgun to her surprise. "Do you know how to use this?" He asked. "No." She took it from his hand, moving it around in her palm, it was solid. Not as heavy as she thought it'd be. "It's a Glock 17, 9 mm gun. Very easy to use. Doesn't weigh much. You should be able to use it. It holds 17 rounds - " "Wait, you gave me a loaded gun?" Her eyes widened "Of course not. I don't want it going off or me getting shot by accident." He chuckled. "Here I'll show you how to use it." He placed his hands over hers, pointing the gun down for a moment. "So, for safety measures, you always keep the gun low. Most importantly when it is loaded." "Mmhm." Lily nodded as he continued giving her the gun lesson. She was shocked this is why he brought her in here. Maybe he was getting her ready for training. But her, no one else. "Alright, you take the magazine out. It has a magazine release button you must press first." He slid a black piece out of the gun, it was where the bullets were stashed. "Then, you load it up. I won't do that right now. But after that, you shove it back in. Then you cock the gun back, find a target and pull the trigger." "Oh, so it's that easy." She smirked. "Yeah, but how good is your aim?" He returned the smirk. His hands still clasped over hers holding the gun. "Well, do you think you can handle a gun now?" "I think so." She liked the warmth of his palms and the calluses on them. 52 parts Complete Mature

**COMPLETED** Several years after the world succumbed to a deadly strain of measles that turned those infected into crazed, mindless cannibals, Charlotte wanders the backroads alone, content with surviving day-to-day. That is until she crosses paths with Nate and his daughter, Emmi. Emmi is not and cannot be vaccinated against the disease, so the only way to protect her and give her some kind of life is to reunite her with her estranged mother in a quarantine zone on the other side of the country. Charlotte wants nothing to do with Nate or the girl who looks like her dead sister. She does not want to go through the grief of losing people again if something bad was to happen. And something bad does happen when Emmi is kidnapped, and it is no one's fault but Charlotte's. Through this obligation alone, Charlotte feels like it is her responsibility to get Emmi back, to right her wrong. In helping Nate pursue his kidnapped daughter, Charlotte inadvertently allows herself to feel again, to care for those other than herself. But with the clock ticking, Charlotte's new found family may just end up like her own, dead and destroyed, if Emmi is exposed to the disease that her father tried so hard to protect her from.
