The "Tag-along", Ponyboy Curtis has had heart wrenching feelings for Dallas Winston for a few months now, the hood that hardly pays any attention to him. But what he doesn't know is that Johnny, his best friend, couldn't hold this secret in anymore and told Dallas. This causes Dallas and Ponyboy conflict, which leads to Ponyboy becoming depressed and drained; mentally begging for Dallas to leave him alone so he can get over him and fall out of love.
