Promise- A commitment by someone to do or not do something. A vow that is meant to be preserved.
Yet, why is it so sweet as it is so painful, like a rose bush covered in thorns. Why are the sounds that were so good to hear are as hard to grasp and hold on. Why is it that underneath this word that is meant for something, filled with malicious things. Why is it a double-edged sword? Why? Why? Why? For why if one holds on for so long, will only be left scarred, bruised and hopeless? But what if those bitter-sweet words turned out to be worth the pain for, worth the hardships under the bludgeoning of time? Or what if it is the same old lies embedded on such hopeful words? Hidden beneath the sweet sight and smell of roses are thorns that bring pain and sorrow. Are promises just the painful truth embedded behind the sweetest lies?
