Why Is There An Alien Princess In My Room? (ONC 2023 - Alien Romance - Complete)
Tristan is a Quiz Bowl star. Vyrsa is from the stars. But is their interstellar romance written in the stars? *** Following a successful heist on a rival planet, Princess Vyrsa just needs to step through the Portal of Wishes to be brought straight back to her home planet Isola. But when Vyrsa steps through the portal, she finds herself on Earth, a primitive planet in a forgotten corner of the universe, with no means to return home. After having spent the night studying for an upcoming Astronomy test, galaxies, planets, and asteroids are on Tristan Conway's mind as he drifts into dreams. So he's unfazed when a strange glittering woman suddenly appears in his dorm room, convinced she's nothing but a figment of his imagination. When he finds her in his kitchen the next morning, eating his textbooks and befriending his cat, he's not so sure anymore. With no fancy alien tech at her disposal, Vyrsa will need Tristan's help to return to her faraway home planet. Ecstatic to be part of a plot reminiscent of the space movies he loves, Tristan throws himself wholeheartedly into the mission. After studies of possible fuel sources turn into Netflix binging beside her endearing host, Vyrsa's resolve to leave weakens. Maybe she'll just stay with Tristan a little bit longer... Surely nothing bad could come from it? Unless the owners of the artifact she stole figure out where she went and decides to obliterate the whole planet where she's hiding just to punish her, of course. *** This is an ONC Novella using prompt #18: You step through a magical portal thinking it's the way back home, but what you find isn't what you expected. Between Sunless Seas
By 2600 the world has come to ruin. Flooded seas cover most land, forcing humans into massive airship colonies called Arks, though it's only for those that had the means to afford the arks or important status. As if that isn't bad enough, the constant pollution of earth has led the ozone layer to be replaced by a massive sea of smog and toxicity called the Veil covers the entire planet, blocking all light and plunging those below into a constant darkness. When Ren falls from his university ark in the stratosphere and through the Veil he expects to find a world of savage monsters and fiends. Instead, he discovers thriving communities between the sunless seas of the Veil. Making a bond with an injured bird, he journeys into uncertainty at a nearby port town before falling further into a world of pirates and criminals called the Parade . Ren will meet holy men, assassins, very angry cooks, and a captain with a mysterious past while trying to learn what life above the Veil never taught him, in the process finding a world of humanity under the cut throat survival and greed of the corporatized world above. Falling in with the crew of the airship Pigeon, Ren becomes embroiled in a scheme to free one of their crew-mates from a corporate labor ark while learning that the companies running things above the Veil might not be the paragons of morality they claim.Concluida
Deep in the Depths
The years came and went. Earth is no longer the only planet out there, and adventures are only just beginning for Aurora's crew. Bessie Marvin didn't think she would be selected to join the Aurora. After all, as a freshly graduated agriculture bioengineer, she lacks the experience most of those in her position hold. So, why would a government send someone like her out to the great unknown? The answer comes sooner then she thinks when their ship crash lands at their destination, a water exoplanet with little land in sight. Orion has always wondered if there was more beyond the glowing lights of his world. This idea pulls him away from his tiny reef and the ocean's comfortable currents, creating a fissure between him and his family. When a strange creature crash lands onto his tiny island, Orion knows this is his chance to finally tame this growing curiosity once and for all. However, meeting Bessie Marvin and falling in love was far from his plans. With the world between the two of them collided, there's no way to go back how things once were. Now, they will have to navigate cultural differences from both space and ocean if they wish to stay together throughout the growing tension between the two sides. With time running out, Bessie and Orion will have to decided if they're willing to stand their ground or give in to the pressures of the ocean's depths. Future cover to be made by @-DeeIsDead-
