After taking damage, he realizes that if he kills her, it would be the end of the Obsidian Finches that hold the Solaris Flare. In order to keep the Solaris Flare, why not marry and be in constant reach of it? That is, if Talene, last of the Obsidian Finches agrees to such marriage.
