Unsafe and not Sound

What would happen if Katniss didn't volunteer for Prim, but her cousin Samantha did? Whilst Peeta could only see Katniss, Samantha was head over heels for him. When she volunteers to keep her cousins together her and Peeta get shipped off to the Capital. Like her cousin she gets set on fire and shoved in the arena. Although in his interview he makes up that he loves her the two Star Crossed lovers are left confused and angry.

"Why did you say that?!" I yell.
"I'm keeping us alive."
"No! You don't understand. Your lying! You're destroying everything I wanted!" I cry at him.
"What? I'm helping us."
"You don't understand. I had everything sorted, until you went and told them you were in love of me! I knew what I was doing! I had a plan! You've knocked it down! You've ruined it!" I cry turning and running away. I hear Haymitch sigh and follow me.

Although in the games Peeta starts to see Samantha though new eyes. Although when he is faced with the choices of risking his life for her can he do it, when this girl isn't Katniss?
