This is a spin-off of Kiera Cass's "The Selection" series. The setting is the same, but the characters and storyline are different. You do not need to read "The Selection" first to understand the story.
Addi is content with her life as a Four; she enjoys taking care of her father and working to earn her living. She never believes that she'll get chosen for The Selection--a nation-wide contest between 35 girls. The prize? Prince Elliott's hand in marriage, and the title of Princess of Illéa.
But everything changes when her name gets called, and she is swept off to a foreign life of extravagant dresses, five-star meals, and royal etiquette.
