For centuries, alphas have been exiled from Mondstadt, so that they can't reinstate the tradition of slavery that brought the city to its knees. The only ones left are the Lawrence clan, hated by all and kept from living a serene life. Even they can only manage to treat Eula, their own blood, with contempt, solely because she was born an omega.
Amber has been forced to hide the fact she is an alpha since her childhood to avoid getting exiled along with her whole family; she lives her life disguised as a beta, fearing sooner or later she might not be able to hide who she is anymore.
