Or: P5R FeMC romances Akechi and suffers the consequences.
***

In a world where your choices shape destinies, an alternate path unfolds ... What if you took on the identity of Rin Amamiya, the compassionate and resilient Shujin transfer student bound to form the Phantom Thieves of Hearts ... and fell in love with the one destined to oppose you along the way?

Join Rin on her path to change her fate ... and perhaps also become the key to change for someone else. Someone she felt was special from the very first moment they met.
Little did she know that this was a love she would have to fight for, with every drop of belief and courage she has.
... Or has it actually been doomed from the start?

This is part novelization, part FeMC AU, and part expansion that started as a spin-off to my other FeMC collection, yet it stands entirely on its own. This is also more of a tribute to Akechi than anything else. If you commit to this, I can almost guarantee you that you'll soon see him in a whole new light.
I'm not writing the entire game; rather, I'm focusing on his confidant ranks and significant moments in between.

Do feel free to make requests if there's a scene or scenario you're eager to see!
Please also note that this is rated M on Ao3 (not E).

After months of getting to know and love Futaba Sakura, knowing that she is the one he wants to spend the rest of his life with, it's all ripped away by one man. Takuto Maruki has decided that people cannot be allowed to think for themselves, and that they should never have to feel pain, well, unless you interfere with his plan. After being thoroughly trounced by the Phantom Thieves, Maruki makes one last ditch attempt to break the theives, and kills Futaba. In his blind rage, Akira Kurusu, otherwise known as Joker takes matters into his own hands, and stops the mad God in his tracks. Time reverts to its original self, with Akechi dead and gone and Maruki and Futaba alive and well, and Akira in Juvinile Detention. After being freed from prison, he finds out that something went wrong when the timeline was restored. Futaba knows him not as her lover, but merely as his friend. Now Akira must find a way to cope with this new life in Hometown, while trying to juggle the return of the Metaverse, and Futaba tries to find her way through the complex feelings she has for Joker, but can't quite explain, as well as the dreams that almost feel like memories. Will she push through and recover her memories and her love? Or will she and Akira both fade into the Mementos of what they have lost. I took a couple liberties with events and the Timeline, but overall, I stayed fairly close to the original game's story. This is a passion project that sprung to mind while driving, and now I'm hyperfixated... Welp, time to churn out a book. ENJOY READING IT!! This Story is a work of Fiction. Similarities between characters or events living or dead in your world are purely coincidental. Only those who have agreed to have the privilege of partaking in this Story. Do you agree? Akira Kurusu and the Phantom Thieves have successfully beaten their mission, but it turns out that there is one thing left to do that Akira had forgotten to do, so Igor sends him back in time to the beginning of his journey to fix that mistake, but will he be able to hold himself back from altering the future? And will it be worth it? CoWriter: @KingKobra310 Ships: Joker X Kasumi Yoshizawa. I do not own any characters here. Their all owned by Atlus. The cover made by me, but fanart isn't mine.
