Collateral damage
By james a. galgano
You see those innocent children grasping for dear life far from here
Their unforgettable faces bring this callous heart to so easily tears
What war based on unfound weapons of mass indiscretion led to this fate
Where innocent eyes infected by friendly fire are burned in our minds to date
How could this so-called collateral damage come undone and unforeseen prevail
Upon all that is holy as if it were a bright and shining lie no one will see
Is this the endless list of innocent victims upon which is presented unfortunately
As some disgusting argument why this all must occur here and now this way
Amidst all the endless excuses and official abuses which seek to otherwise persuade
When all these eyes are able to see those innocent victims who will never escape
The havoc wrought upon them and us all to the forever inevitable heartbreak
