As a private investigator, Wilbur Soot has had a lot of potential clients walk into his office. Many walk away, as his prices are too high for them to afford. When a young boy walks into his office, he is intrigued. The boy was in a ratty white and red T-shirt and torn up pants, he couldn't be more than six. Reminded Wilbur a little too much of himself when he was younger. The boy places a few coins and some buttons in Wilbur's hand. His older brother had gone missing. Wilbur stared at the boy's sad-looking eyes. How could he say no? It wasn't too long ago when he was in the same situation. Wilbur gives the coins and buttons back to the child, along with a small wad of cash. He agrees to find his brother, letting the kid stay at his office while he begins the hunt, scouring the internet, looking for any signs of the boy's disappearance. He eventually makes it to a city. Large buildings are fallen over and the ones still standing have busted out windows and/or have smoke and fire coming from them. He can hear distant screams and yells and gunshots. There are people passing him that are strange. They're badly injured and walk slightly hunched over. Some are missing limbs, and some are missing and eye, or both. They don't even appear to be alive to the boy. They look his way but don't mind him. Tommy is confused and scared.
